King Ludwig II of Bavaria was a true connoisseur and expert of the Allgäu. He therefore built Neuschwanstein Castle, the most wonderful dream castle in the world in this beautiful landscape. However, in addition to grandeur and wealth, we also set great store by tradition. The cows are sent high up into the Allgäu Alps every year in spring to the lush, green mountain pastures. This is where they spend the summer. In September they go down the mountain again. We celebrate this cattle drive every year with a great feast and hearty music.
